This post really got my attention because it is the second article I have read about the quality of writing that is happening because of social networking. As teachers, it is really important for us to be sure that spelling, grammar and other writing techniques are not being compromised just because the "21st Century" is social networking, computers, etc. It is really important that students are still held to high standards. Teachers and students still need to be responsible for all the writing strategies so that their writing is of the highest quality they can perform at their level. It is true...if a child doesn't learn it, then they will continue of the trend of using it inappropiately.
I like this article because it focuses on teachers and what they can do in their classrooms to enhance those 21st skills effectively. It also shows teachers how to stay focused and explains ways to ask imperative questions, so that effective communication is happening.
