Are new teachers more effective than veteran teachers?

http://www.edutopia.org/poll-new-teachers-more-effective

I am not very sure if this question should be even asked. I firmly believe that there are postives and negatives to both a new and a vetern teacher. However a teacher no matter new or old is good only if they put the needs of their children into their instruction. A vetern teacher has so much knowledge of different strategies, different experiences, the "do's and don'ts of teaching, how to meet with a parent, etc. Although a new teachers is coming with fresh ideas both teachers can teach one another. A new teacher can teach new strategies while a veteran teacher can learn. It really isn't about which is better, it's which will use their information, new or old, to benefit each child that will come through their door.

I like how one person commented, it is how the teacher uses their talent that will make them great teachers not matter if they are new or veterans
